Food glorious food!

So being unemployed I have started to take over the kitchen. I love to experiment with food. Through the years I have mastered curries, pastas and different kinds of snacks but my luck with sweet things has always been sour. Desserts are my weakness in the kitchen (and desserts like molten chocolate lava cake from Chilli's is a major mental weakness lol). I have never ever made a sweet dish that has gone right but hey unemployment does wonders. I actually baked a cake without f***ing it up. The first time I baked a cake with a friend it ended up burnt on the outside and a liquid mush on the inside. And then recently I made Apple Crisp which turned out just brilliant. I love the oven I want to marry it!! :)

There are certain foods I really need to have in my life... infact these certain foods should be there in everyone's lives and the top 5 foods I love cooking with, eating, indulging and encouraging people to use are:

1. Cheese: if there wasn't cheese there wouldn't be macaroni n' cheese, mushroom n' cheese, cheeznips, cheeseballs, i could go on with the cheeseyness... And there are so many things you can do with it... bake it, fry it, grill it, boil it to make sauce... man i can go on forever... My fav. is by far mozzerella and cheddar.

2. Chocolate: You know that old joke... "If God were a woman, cum would taste like chocolate." Now where to begin?? Twix, Mars, Snickers, melted chocolate, fudge... i'm drooling right now!! I honestly prefer it melted because chocolate is something you should eat slowly and mostly lick it off your finger, spoon, a lover's skin.

3. Bread: Fresh, warm, soft bread... everything about bread is soooo wonderful from the smell to the taste... whenever I go down to Bombay on vacation, I look forward to having this amazing bread this dude delivers every evening right from the bakery... it's sorta like a bun but a little more raised. It's called pau! I'm drooling thinking about it. And I love the French baguettes (er don't mind my spelling)... some butter, rub some garlic, add some cheese... mmmmm cheesy garlic bread!

4. Herbs, Spices, Sauces and Condiments: I like my food with a lot of flavor and spice. My kitchen must haves are onions, garlic, green chillies, corriander, whole spices like cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, saffron (i add these whole spices in stews, curries and marinades as well), turmeric, red chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste (excellent meat tenderizer), tabassco, barbecue sauce, soy sauce, english mustard (ohhh man lickety lick... i know i'm weird lol), ketchup (mostly used as tomato substitute).

5. Meat: I need my meat... I can never be a vegetarian... If you're into animal rights, first stop those people who are fornicating with them then attack the rest of us who like our chickens "dead and deep fried" - Chris Tucker, Rush Hour haha. But my favorite meat by far is turkey... I like turkey ham, turkey bacon (although I do say turkey bacon is NOT bacon), turkey slices with some sweet and spicy sauce mmmmmm... next comes pork... living in an islamic country, you get pork mostly in a few big supermarkets so it's very rare I get to eat bacon and ham. Around Christmas my Goan friend's mom makes this dish called "Sorpatale" no idea how it's made but it's yum with bread.

Wow I've written a book here and now I'm hungry. See y'all on the flip side oh and I invite you all to my kitchen. :)
